Kalonzo, Otiende Amollo finally named Senior Counsel.

After passionately arguing and winning the Supreme Court case against the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta alongside Senior Counsel James Orengo and others in 2017, Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo has finally been awarded the prestigious title of Seniour Counsel alongside former Vice President and Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and twenty two others.
In a Monday State House announcement, President Uhuru Kenyatta has also awarded the much coveted Seniour Counsel title to other well known public figures in the legal fraternity including NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua, Philip Murgor, Judy Thongori, Kioko Kilukumi ,Fred Ngatia (who was the President’s lawyer at the 2017 Supreme Court duel) as well as Mombasa based lawyer Taib Ali Taib.
The Senior Counsel title is only given to a senior lawyers in commonwealth countries and is the equivalent of Queens Counsel (QC) in the UK and is a recognition of many years of useful contribution to the legal fraternity in the country both in legal defense and litigation.
Others who have been feted with the coveted title by the president include Om Parkash Nagpal, Pravin Bowry, Charles Waweru Gatonye, Fackson Wainaina Kagwe, Rautta Athiambo, Mohammed Nyaoga, Albert Mumma, Beauttah Alukhava Siganga, Kiragu Kimani, Zehrabanu Janmohamed, Wilfred Nderitu, John Ohaga, Patricia Nyaundi , Dorcas Agik Odhong Oduor, Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed and John Chigiti.
