MoH Maintains Underlying medical conditions causing Death Among Covid-19 patients

The Ministry of Health still insists that underlying medical conditions are the major causes of deaths of patients that are suffering from Covid 19 in the country.

Fielding questions from journalists after giving his daily Covid 19 brief on the status of the epidemic in the country, the ministry’s Chief Administrative Secretary, CAS, Dr. Rashid Aman says most of those that have succumbed from Covid 19 related illnesses have been diagnosed with underlying medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, cancer and others.

‘Out of the eight patients that succumbed from the virus in the last 24 hours, six of them had underlying medical conditions,’

Dr. Aman disclosed.

Dr. Aman has also said that the Covid 19 Virus cannot be transmitted from mother to child through breastfeeding, as the country joins the rest of the world in marking World Breastfeeding week.

In some good news from the ministry, the country has so far recorded t 514 patients who have recovered from the virus, taking the number of those that have fully recovered from the virus to 10, 444 people.

Nairobi still continues to lead the counties with high cases of new infections, followed by Kiambu with Kajiado coming third.

Others with high infection rates include, Nakuru, Nyeri, Murang’a Machakos, Busia, Mombasa in that order.
