Student Leaders Now Want School Fees waived for 2 years

The University Student Leaders are now calling on the government to waive school fees as part of the economy recovery measures.
Led by Fikirini Jacobs the President 0f Kenya University Students Organization (KUSO), the students’ body want Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha to waive the fees for two years.
Speaking during a press conference in Nairobi he pointed out that the fees should be waived to sallow parents recover from the shocks of the pandemic
“We urge the Education CS that the schools fees for this year and next year should be waived to allowed student and parent to have some space to reorganise themselves,” said Fikirini.
They pointed out that alongside the fees the government should move in speed and implement the safety procedures necessary to allow resumption of learning activities.
The body now wants former KUSO chair Antony Imanyara to stop imposing himself as the current student leader
“Imanyara is not the students leader he should stop addressing media on behalf of students,” said Victor Njeru a student leader at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University OF Science and Technology.
