Counties to get Sh409.88b in the 2021/2022 fiscal year, up by Sh53.5b

Deputy President William Ruto has said that County Governments will get Sh409.88 billion in the 2021/2022 financial year, reflecting a Sh53.5 billion increase.

Ruto also says that the additional resources will facilitate post-COVID-19 pandemic economic recovery and ensure sustained service delivery at the counties.

He said that after chairing the 14th Ordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council (IBEC) attended by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani, Governors, CRA Chairperson Dr Jane Kiringai, Controller of Budget Dr Margaret Nyakang’o, Permanent Secretaries and County Executive Committee Members at his Karen residence, Nairobi County.
