Embu County Warms Up to A New Senator Come August

Embu County is set to get a new senator in the name of Senator Dr. Fridah Karani alias Firirida. Ms Karani is vying on a TSP (The Service Party) ticket.

Speaking to The Times, Ms Karani highlighted some of her key agenda.

“I’m ready to take the opportunity to serve my people of Embu as their next Senator and bridge the leadership gap,” she said. Other than the usual stipulated role of oversight and representation, Ms Karani is focused on uniting leaders for peaceful development.

The Doctor by profession is focused on ensuring transparency especially in the disbursement of County funds. “I’m committed to ensure that the funds reach the grassroots and carry out the functions of development at the county level,” she beamed.

She is focused on holding county-wide consultative meetings with different stakeholders for the progress and benefit of the people of Embu.

As a woman legislator, her gender agenda will revolve around bringing men perspective on board because the agenda is not all about femininity, ensure compliance with Constitutional provisions to uphold Rule of Law and that Women should join politics & normalise/level the playing field.

Dr. Frida Karani who hails from Kamiu, Mbeti North Ward, Manyatta Constituency, Embu County) has been competitively and meritocratically selected to join the Ms. President Leadership Academy from an initial of 750 applications and a subsequent shortlist of 320 persons.

With a humble heart she said, “This is not just my opportunity but an opening for us all for the society through women. An opportunity to fly County number 014 high.”

The thoughtful & assertive intellectual  applauded Ms President Leadership Academy organisers for advently removing the women leadership agenda from policies on shelves, debates in boardrooms, bills in parliaments, rulings in judicial registries, contents in education/training curriculums, talk shows on media and casual town discussions to a practical reality.

   “The Academy pragmatically prepares and leads women on towards real leadership challenges & roles in the highest possible office in countries of the world. Ms President is confidently doing the centre stage opening for the women before time runs out. We just need to oil our joints and yield.” she quipped.
