Samburu North Member of Parliament the Honorable Dominic Eli Letipila is a sharp, focused, brilliant and charismatic legislator.
This was evident when he defeated bigwigs and veterans to emerge victorious in the August 2022 polls.
The legislator was elected on an United Democratic Alliance UDA party ticket.
“First of all it’s always good to give credit where it’s due. In this respect I’d like to thank the Government for its tireless efforts to boost and beef up security in Samburu North. We are thankful that nowadays the cases of banditry and cattle rustling have subsided. However we are imploring upon the Government to pull up its socks in matters of improving security.
Our people whose main economic mainstay is pastoralism resulted into arming themselves because of a breach of security, hence the need to arm themselves. If there was enough security, there could be no need of arming themselves,” Letipila noted.
Hon Letipila at the same time singled out education as one of the most important tools that can be used to develop the area.
Hon Letipila continued to urge the government to continue enforcing the law especially the one touching on mopping up of all illegal firearms.
“If the government must disarm, we should encourage it to start from the Uganda border all the way to the Somali border, so as no single community will be disadvantaged over the other one,” Hon Letipila noted.
