KCA And University Of Stavanger In Norway Ink Deal
KCA University and University of Stavanger in Norway have committed to expand and strengthen their academic and research collaboration for mutual benefit.
During an international workshop held on Tuesday 7th March 2023 at KCA University, the two institutions resolved to enhance and strengthen their partnerships to support academic and research excellence through student and staff exchange as well as internationalisation of curricula.
The workshop involved a high-level public panel discussion on the topic “Blockchain Technologies for Sustainable Development”.
Representing the Vice Chancellor & CEO, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic & Student Affairs, Prof. Joshua Bagaka’s said the collaboration was pivotal in equipping students from partner universities in line with internationalisation of global education goals.
It also emerged during the blended discussion involving multinational experts that blockchain technologies can foster sustainable development in many different operational areas.
The panel discussants included Prof. Rong Chunming, Head of DSComputing at University of Stavanger, Prof. Hans-Arno Jacobsen – Middleware Systems Research Group at University of Toronto in Canada, Prof. Bitange Ndemo, Kenya’s Ambassador to Belgium & EU, and Dr. Z. Zhao, Senior Researcher from university of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Among other guests who graced the event were Geir Arne Schei, the deputy Head of Mission at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Kenya, Dr. Frank Ndakala from the Ministry of Education representing the State Department for Higher Education and Research, Kenya, Astrid Elisabet Tveitaskog and Bente Dale from University of Stavanger in Norway, and Dag Hovdhaugen and Helén Sophie Haugen from the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills in Norway.
