Bungoma County Governor and Chair of the Council of Governors Agriculture, Livestock, and Cooperatives Committee, Kenneth Lusaka, has assured residents of the county’s plan to aggregate parks in the next financial year.

Speaking during the Investor’s Forum in Rabat, Morocco, which was organised by the Pan African Congress Kenya Chapter in collaboration with the Moroccan Embassy, the principal expressed his gratitude for being part of the forum.

“My people should rest assured that whatever we’ve learned here will be implemented at the grassroots; industrial parks have been crucial in developing regions and have definitely transformed rural economies,” reiterated Lusaka.

The highlight of the event was the showcasing of how Morocco has been able to establish 12 fully operational aggregated industrial parks, one in each region, with most of them focusing on agribusiness.

This comes in the wake of counties plans to set up aggregated parks throughout the country, with each county expected to contribute Sh250 million towards the implementation of the project in the next financial year, with the national government boosting each county with a similar amount.

Lusaka also lauded the Moroccan success story on fertiliser production and the use of solar energy, which he cited as worth implementing back home.

Also in attendance were Principal Secretary Devolution Teresia Mbaika, Governors Mutahi Kahiga-Nyeri, Wavinya Ndeti-Machakos, Amos Nyaribo-Nyamira, Achani Fatuma-Kwale, and the Deputy Governor of Nairobi, Muchiri Njoroge.
