The Mombasa county assembly has reiterated its loyalty to Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and refuted claims there is dissenting views over his leadership style.
Mombasa county Speaker Aharub Khatri refuted claims there is doubt on the leadership style of Abdulswamad and the decisions he has taken.
He pointed out they are behind all decisions Abdulswamad has made in his leadership.
“We are convinced that Abdulswamad has good intentions for the county electorate and he has the county at heart,” he pointed out.
Aharub has applauded Abdulswamad’s leadership since he was elected the second governor adding that he is doing his best.
He was speaking during the official launch of MombasaCare program and the rolling out of a medical camp at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital in Mvita Sub-County in Mombasa county. The governor presided over the ceremony.
The county speaker told United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party leaders drawn from Mombasa county to stop insulting the governor.
He told East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament (MP) who is also UDA national vice chairman Hassan Omari Sarai to stop his habit of criticizing Abdulswamad’s style of leadership.
“Let Sarai show us how many youths he has employed at the Kenya Ports Authority [KPA] since he won during last year’s general elections,” he challenged.
The speaker told Sarai that he previously used to criticize the Jubilee administration and now that they are in the government they should show their abilities to the electorate through action and not through empty promises.
Aharub told Sarai criticism against Abdulswamad’s leadership won’t deter them from being solidly behind the governor adding that they have vowed to stand with him.
