Mombasa Press club Meet Governor Abdulswamad to Enhance Collabortaion

Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has said that the partnership with the media should not be seen as a compromise.
He added the co-operation with the media is not an indication the sector has been comprised.
“The perception that the partnership and cooperation with media is a compromise is wrong,” he disclosed.
Abdulswamad defended the working relationship with the media which he said has achieved a better partnership.
He was speaking during the launch of 13th branch of Mombasa Press club held at City Blue hotel in Nyali constituency, Mombasa county.
The governor asked the media to project a good image to members of the public who look upon them for information.
Abdulswamad acknowledged challenges are part and parcel of life and it is a reality which has to be faced.
Speaking on same launch Mombasa Deputy governor Francis Thoyatold the forum the occasion is a bold step taken in the launch of the club.
He disclosed the launch of the press club will be good network for journalists working in the county.
“The press club will bring the working relationship of journalists close rather than from the perspective of working for different media houses,” he pointed out.
In his welcome remarks Media Council of Kenya Director Victor Bwire said they work with media houses for success of the fraternity.
He acknowledged there are squabbles and infighting in media houses which he said are normal as long as they don’t engage on physical fights.
“The launch of the club will reduce operation costs for the county government,” he added.
