Africa remains vulnerable to effects of climate change
President William Ruto said Africa remains the continent most vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
He said this was evidenced by the recent devastating floods in Kenya.
“There are droughts in southern Africa which we are still working to recover from,” he pointed out.
President Ruto added that these are as well as other climate related disasters across the continent.
He made the remarks during the official opening of the annual meeting of the Africa Development Bank held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.
The Head of State pointed out at the adverse impact of climate change on the fiscal sustainability of many economies as Africa remains vulnerable to the effects of climate change.
