KRA officers raid Radio Rahma office owned by Mombasa governor
Kenya Revenue Authority [KRA] officers raided the local Radio Rahma FM station owned by Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir who is spearheading a war to ban the use and sell of muguka in the port city.
The governor had to rush to the station offices situated in Nyali constituency and was forced to mobilize Likoni lawmaker Mishi Mboko and her Kisauni counterpart Rashid Bedzimba and other leaders to stage a protest outside the station’s office.
Addressing the media the governor warned the government no amount of intimidation and threarts will scare him in his war against muguka adding that it won’t stop his work.
He refuted claims the fight against muguka was his personal initiative saying it was for the entire coast region.
“It’s war for the victims of muguka and those recovering at rehabilitation centres,” he pointed out.
The governor said nothing will make the county tone down in its fight to ban muguka.
Abdulswamad told the media nothing like an order from above will supersede the county’s decision.
He reiterated the total ban on muguka was not his personal battle but for the local residents in the county.
” I am speaking on behaif of those affected by the menace and it is not my personal voice,” he pointed out.
