Hundreds of youths today thronged Busia town, calling for the immediate resignation of former Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong from his post as NEPAD chair.
In a gazette notice dated June 14, President Ruto appointed Ojaamong as Chairperson of the NEPAD/APRM Kenya Governing Council. The demonstrators accused Ojaamong of engaging in fraudulent activities during his tenure as governor, including an alleged Ksh 8 million graft case flagged by the EACC.
“Ruto must sack him immediately; he is corrupt and unfit for public office,” the residents demanded. “He stole Ksh 8 million of public funds. For Ruto to redeem his government, he must sack Ojaamong. You cannot reward a thief.”
