Bungoma Governor Vows To Support National Qualifiers In Secondary Schools Games

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka hosted the Bungoma National Games School qualifiers on Thursday at his residence in Kamukuywa in the quest to amplify his support ahead of the national competitions to be held in Kisii County.

While addressing the students and teachers from over five qualified schools across the county, Lusaka accentuated the need for sportsmanship and support from county government.
“Today, we are not just hosting qualifiers; we are celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship and talent,” Lusaka said.

Hello further noted: “Your hard work and dedication will pave the way for future success, and discipline will propel your quest to clinch victory. Go forth and shine.”

The qualifier disciplines set to represent the county include volleyball for both boys and girls, basketball for both boys and girls, girls’ rugby, boys’ and girls’ long tennis, badminton, and table tennis, drawing participants from Lugulu Girls High School, Friends School Kamusinga, Namwela, Sirakaru, and Mbakalo schools, among others.

Additionally, the county boss committed to offering unwavering support to the participants and fast-tracking the Youth and Sports Policy, a key initiative for nurturing talent in the county.

Conclusively, the Governor highlighted that the Masinde Muliro Kanduyi Stadium would serve as a premier venue for showcasing sports and talent, not only locally but also beyond the county level.
