Ruto’s second cabinet sworn in

President William Ruto has unveiled a new chapter of a broad-based government to the country’s governance and development.
He said the women and men he has appointed in his second cabinet to serve the nation in the reconstituted new-look cabinet including opposition members have embarked on a mission that cannot and must not fail.
“The people of Kenya have made their expectations known in bold terms,” he said.
Ruto added they have also made their intolerance for failure, inefficiency, corruption and ineptitude equally clear.
He spoke during the swearing in ceremony of 19 of his newly-appointed cabinet secretaries including four drawn from the opposition at a brief ceremony held at State House in Nairobi.
The Head of State reminded them that as champions of the nation’s  development agenda they have to ensure they are team players and servant leaders.
President Ruto who was flanked by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi added that they must be faithful trustees and effective stewards of the people’s interest.

Cabinet secretaries have my support  

President assured  the 19 newly-appointed cabinet secretaries of his support. He assured them of his support during the discharging of their duties and mandate.
“And in executing a reimaged and catalyzed transformation agenda,” he pointed out.
Ruto said he has already given them his undertaking to be the foremost steward to the public resource and to embrace accountability for its proper use.
“Therefore, it is important to make it clear that my support to you ends  if it conflicts with my accountability to the people of the republic,” he warned.
He spoke during  the swearing in ceremony of 19 of the newly-appointed cabinet secretaries including four drawn from the opposition at a brief ceremony held at State House in Nairobi.
The Head of State urged them in a nine-page speech to work together in doing the right thing.  President Ruto who was flanked by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi added that in working together they shall be assured of success.
He urged them to go forth from today’s ceremony to focus on delivery and dedicate their time and effort to the implementation of the various strategies and programmes.
“And projects that the nation’s transformation demand, and I encourage you to make the people your people first and only priority,” he pointed out.
