Youth and women groups across Dagoreti constituency have expressed their appreciation for the Building Resilience for Women and Youth Initiative launched by area MP Beatrice Elachi.

The initiative fosters collaboration between the NG-CDF, Uwezo Fund, Youth Fund, and Women Fund to provide resources and tools aimed at empowering the community. It operates under the “MamaDago Mashinani” slogan and draws participants from Kilimani, Gatina, Kabiro, Kawangware, and Kileleshwa wards.

In addition to issuing cheques from various funds, MP Elachi distributed vital equipment, including sewing machines, overlocking machines, toolboxes, vehicle diagnostic machines, tents, chairs, overalls, aprons, luggage trolleys, printing machines, and welding machines.

“This initiative is designed to support community businesses and inspire our youth to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities,” Elachi stated.

Local beneficiaries have hailed the initiative for its tangible impact. Solomon Imbenzi, a member of a youth events group, praised the provision of chairs and tents, which he says will enable them to overcome logistical challenges.

“This support opens doors for collaboration with other groups, allowing us to grow our business,” he said.

Similarly, Peris Bosbori from Kilimani, a grocery business owner, shared her gratitude for receiving Uwezo funds.

“This boost comes at the perfect time and will greatly help our group scale our business,” she remarked.

The initiative has ignited hope among the youth and women in Dagoretti, empowering them to seize new opportunities and strengthen their ventures.
