Chief Officer Mosiria Condemns MP Babu Owino for Spreading False Claims About Pipeline Cleanliness

A local leader has criticized Embakasi East MP Babu Owino for allegedly sharing misleading information about the state of cleanliness in Nairobi’s Pipeline area.

In a statement released on Thursday, the leader accused Owino of posting an outdated image online and falsely claiming it reflected the current state of the Pipeline neighborhood. The image, which has been identified as a photo of Eastleigh’s 9th Street from 2021, was described as irrelevant to Pipeline’s present condition.

“I personally visited the area and confirmed that it is clean and well-maintained,” the leader said, adding that such tactics were a “shameful attempt to discredit the progress” made under Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s administration.

The leader highlighted recent improvements in waste management and environmental upkeep, attributing them to the governor’s efforts. He urged Kenyans to reject “bad leadership” that relies on misinformation to undermine development initiatives.

The incident has sparked public debate over the role of political leaders in shaping public perception and the need for fact-checking claims made on social media. MP Babu Owino is yet to respond to the allegations.
