CHP Salaries to Take Priority Over Other Civil Servants, Government Declares

President William Ruto’s Senior Advisor in his Council of Economics Moses Kuria said the government is determined to cater for the welfare of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) countrywide.
He said the year 2025 will be different from the previous years under the Kenya Kwanza administration.
“This year is a year of action and not of squabbling and pointing of accusing fingers at each other,” he pointed out.
Kuria insisted the government will ensure the salaries of all Community Health Promoters (CHPs) countrywide are paid in time and first before other civil servants get their monthly dues.
He spoke during the launch of Social Health Authority [SHA] massive registration exercise held at Lohana Hall in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county. Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir graced the occasion.
The government Advisor in the Council of Economics told the Community Health Promoters (CHPs) the government is determined to ensure they end wrangles in the health sector.
Kuria told the occasion which was also attended by Likoni lawmaker Mishi Juma Mboko and her Jomvu counterpart Badi Twalib that the government is out to ensure teething problems facing SHA are addressed and resolved once and for all.
He disclosed during the holidays he spent his time listening to patients and the challenges they encounter in accessing the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital.
“At the end of this week all salaries and pending arrears of Community Health Promoters (CHPs) will be paid,” he assured.
