On Monday, 10th February at his official Karen residence, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki hosted a delegation of about 2700 grassroots, political, religious, and economic sector leaders and professionals from the 12 constituencies of Kiambu County where he vowed to push back Rigathi Gachagua’s political influence in the region.
The DP slammed Gachagua for attempting to monopolise political influence in Mt Kenya, purporting to make decisions on behalf of the vote-rich region.
“The former DP cannot purport to make decisions on behalf of the people of Mt Kenya. He doesn’t own the people of the mountain. He cannot threaten us. The former DP should be panicking over the consultative forums we are holding.
He hasn’t seen anything yet. We will run him out of town. When the time comes he will know there are men in this town,” DP Kindiki said.
The visibly agitated Kindiki vowed to lead serious campaigns in the Mt Kenya region to run his predecessor Rigathi out of town, laughing off those who think they can intimidate the Ruto administration with their anti-government campaign.
The Deputy President’s remarks come a day after former DP Rigathi Gachagua’s interview with Mt Kenya stations, where he promised to launch a new political party for the region to join in May.
