Juja MP Koimburi Charged With Forgery of Academic Certificates

Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi has been charged with forging academic certificates.

He appeared at the Kiambu Law Courts on Wednesday, where he faced six counts of forging academic certificates and another count for failing to attend court on numerous dates.

The charges include forging a Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) certificate to secure a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and forging certificates from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) between 2011 and 2012.

Koimburi was arrested outside his home on Tuesday and taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters along Kiambu Road for questioning.

The arrest allegedly followed his claims that the government spent KSh 13 billion on Raila Odinga’s failed bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship.
