ODM Secretary General Senator Edwin Sifuna has publicly stated that even if the Orange Democratic Movement supports President William Ruto in the 2027 elections, Ruto would still lose.
Speaking on Thursday at a morning talk show, the Nairobi Senator said President Ruto has lost the people’s favor and has no chance of being re-elected in 2027, thus any endorsements by other political players would not be of any impact.
“Even if ODM supports Ruto, he will still lose. As a party we do not support either the internal affairs or the external affairs of the way this country is being run. William Ruto will lose that election with Raila’s support,” the ODM SG said, adding that the orange party only enter an alliance with like minded political parties parties.
“ODM will only enter into alliances with political parties that are like-minded. That are pro-people, that can manage the country. You are not going to force us into an alliance with incompetent people and it has been demonstrated that the Kenya Kwanza government is the most incompetent so far from independence,” he added.
Senator Sifuna is part of a faction within ODM that has rejected presidential appointments, accusing colleagues in government of sycophancy and indulging in excessive praise of the president.
