Raila Promises ‘Not to Betray’ Kenyans Ahead of Next Week Announcement

ODM leader Raila Odinga says he will put the country’s interest first ahead of his much anticipated announcement next week  following wide consultations with leaders and supporters across the country.

Speaking on Thursday in Migori County, Raila who was accompanied by Governor Ochillo Ayacko and a host of ODM MPs said he will formalize his engagement with President William Ruto in the broadbased government only if Kenyans give him the greenlight.

The ODM boss expressed his disappointment with a number of policies not working in the Ruto government and further criticised the Social Health Authority, for failing Kenyans.

“I have listened very carefully to the people. I can say these people have given me a carte blanche, a blank cheque and I can write any amount on it. They have said that they have  faith in what we do and they support what we are going to do, because  they know it is going to be  in the best interest of our people.”

“We are not going to betray our people in whatever we do, and whatever we do must be in the best interest of the people of the republic of Kenya,” Raila said.

Odinga kicked off his consultation meetings earlier this week on Tuesday morning,  where he held a similar meeting with elders from the Luo Nyanza region, where he shared his experiences from the AUC campaign.
