DAP-Kenya To Reap Big As Western Kenya Politicians Warm Up to Outfit

A major political realignment is taking place in Western Kenya following the pact between Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.

Several politicians from the vote-rich region are looking for alternative political parties outside ODM and UDA ahead of the 2027 polls.

According to reports, President William Ruto’s UDA has lost favor with Western Kenya residents, especially those in Kakamega County, after Cleophas Malala was kicked out as the Secretary General.

After his ouster, Malala has been championing an onslaught against the ruling party in the county and is touted to be headed for Eugene Wamalwa’s DAP-Kenya.

Apart from Malala, Kakamega Senator Boni Khlawale’s supporters want him to join a different political party outside ODM and UDA for his gubernatorial bid in 2027.

Senator Khalwale was a key player in the formation of UDA but has since taken a backseat in the party’s political activities in Kakamega.

With ODM firmly in control of Kakamega’s governorship and UDA unwanted, Senator Khalwale is said to be warming up to DAP-Kenya, which already has an MP in Mumias East (Peter Salasya) and is said to be on the rise in the region.
