GSU Officer Slain In Haiti Laid To Rest In Kiserian

Samuel Tompoi Kaetuai a GSU officer killed in Haiti has been laid to rest in Kiserian, Kajiado County where family members and leaders eulogized him as a visionary man who served with integrity and discipline, upholding his oath as a police officer even during his mission outside the country.

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka led leaders present in paying their last respect to the fallen Kenyan soldier.

”Officer Kaetuai lost his life 12,500 kilometres from Kenya’s borders, in the line of duty, protecting Haitians from criminal gangs. At this solemn moment in time, I am reflective of the words written in Psalm 23:4 – Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me,” Kalonzo said.

Other leaders present at the funeral were Kajiado County Deputy Governor Martin Moshishio, Kajiado Senator Seki Lenku Ole Kanar, DAP-Kenya PL Eugene Wamalwa, and Kitui West MP Edith Nyenze.

The Multinational Security Support Mission confirmed his  Kaetuai was killed in Haiti in late February,  during an operation where he sustained injuries.

The National Police Service later reported that he was shot by suspected gang members and died from gunshot wounds despite efforts to rush him to the hospital.
