President William Ruto will be leaving the country for a state visit in China, and also attend a series of high-level meetings, including the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in Japan, later this month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says.

Prime Cabinet Secretary (CS) Musalia Mudavadi confirmed this, noting that he will also be leaving the country later in the coming months for a series of meetings lined up.

“Apart from that there are meetings for COMESA lined up, the president will also attend IGAD meetings in Japan; there. Could be others that could come in between,” Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said.

President Ruto returns to Beijing after his August 2024 visit for the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which brought together over 140 countries and 30 international organizations, including leaders, officials, and representatives from various sectors.
