Nairobi County Government Investigation Department has launched investigations into complaints that Mobility Chief Officer Machel Waikenda is running a parallel Parking Team in an extortion ring.
According to close sources privy to the investigations Chief Officer Waikenda has a team with special officers led by Mr. Kevin and Pamela together with other two officers who are clamping vehicles at night and demanding upto sh. 50,000 from mortorists contrary to the law.
“His appetite for money is worrying,you remember this is the same problem we had with former Chief Officer Nyamu .Waikenda has become cartel in this department but we shall not relent in smoking him out even if it means taking this file to National Intelligence Service or Ethics and Anti corruption Commission EACC.” The source said.
According to Investigation Department clamping of vehicles beyond 4.30 pm is unlawful and any officer doing the same is acting against the county By-laws.
“We shall deal with them we can’t allow Waikenda and his rogue officers to tint the image of this great County we shall expose them and his rogue officers.Imagine clamping someone’s vehicle at night and asking for bribes? No no no we can’t allow that.” He added.
