The Ministry of Public Service has directed all ministries, departments, agencies, and county governments to submit updated records of their employees by the end of September or risk salary disruptions.

Public Service Principal Secretary Jane Imbunya, speaking during a radio interview on Monday, said the government is migrating all civil service records to the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to streamline payroll management and curb ghost workers.

She emphasized that the exercise is aimed at promoting accountability and ensuring public funds are only disbursed to legitimate employees. “This process is about transparency and efficiency. We are putting an end to irregular payments and safeguarding taxpayer resources,” she noted.

The PS urged institutions to comply within the set deadline, warning that failure to do so would lead to delayed salaries until accurate data is captured.
