A man collapsed and died on Tuesday at the Bungoma Law Courts shortly after arriving on a motorcycle, the Judiciary has confirmed.
In a statement, Judiciary Spokesperson Paul Ndemo said the man was issued a priority card by a customer care officer due to his apparent ill health.
“The individual arrived at the court compound on a motorcycle and was issued a Priority Card by a Customer Care Officer due to his condition,” said Ndemo.
He added that the man collapsed while waiting for his advocate to arrive and was pronounced dead moments later.
Police officers responded immediately and moved the body to the Bungoma County Referral Hospital morgue.
Ndemo noted that the identity of the deceased was being withheld until the next of kin was notified.
“The Judiciary extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased,” observed Ndemo.
