Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga wants Interior PS Raymond Omollo sacked by President Ruto over what she claims to be PS Omollo’s heavy involvement in the recently concluded by-election in Kasipul.

According to sources who spoke to this writer, Governor Wanga, who has had a lukewarm relationship with the PS, claims Omollo went against the ODM-UDA broad-based arrangement by backing Phillip Aroko, an Independent candidate, against ODM’s Boyd Were.

Were won the Kasipul Constituency Parliamentary by-election after garnering 16,819 votes. Aroko garnered 8,476 votes, followed by Collins Omondi Okeyo of the Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG), who garnered 4,796 votes.

Already, Wanga has stripped his deputy, Oyugi Magwanga some roles after he openly went against the ODM Party’s position to campaign for Philip Aroko. On Monday, Magwanga accused officials in the county government of unlawfully locking his office, the County Secretary’s office, and the Payroll Management office, in what he terms a direct attack on his authority.
