ODM Chairperson Governor Gladys Wanga has accused President William Ruto’s UDA of breaching his agreement with ODM under the broad-based government.
Speaking in Awasi on Sunday, Wanga claimed that UDA is actively planning to field candidates in regions traditionally considered strongholds of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and warned such a move would be political dishonesty.
The Homabay Governor emphasized that the agreement explicitly bars political encroachment into ODM’s grassroots areas and further stated that any attempt to disregard this provision could strain the working relationship established under the deal.
“The agreement was clear on respecting each other’s political spaces,” Wanga said.
Separately, speaking during the ODM party condolence visit at the home of the late former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo, Minority Whip in the National Assembly, Junet Mohamed has called on the President to outline the positions that ODM will get before the possible 2027 coalition.
