A family in Ndakaini Village, Gatanga, Murang’a County, is mourning the sudden deaths of Sammy Jones Ndichu and his wife, Nina Wambui Ndichu. The couple tragically passed away in a road accident on 12 December 2025 along the Maai Mahiu–Naivasha route.

The Architects Alliance confirmed the couple’s passing, sharing: “It is with deep sorrow that we inform the Architectural & Quantity Surveying fraternity of the demise of Arch. Sammy Jonnes Ndichu Mwangi and his loving wife, Nina Ann Wambui, in a road accident.”

Born on 23 April, Sammy in 1993 and Nina in 1995, the couple shared not only their birthdays, but also the tragic day of their passing.

They were laid to rest on December 19, at their family home in Ndakaini, following a memorial service held at PCEA Mt. Olives in Njathaini, Kiambu County.

Friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn the couple, with one expressing, “And their wedding anniversary was on December 12, and they were both first-borns. True soulmates. So sad.”

Others wrote heartfelt eulogies, highlighting their love and devotion, with many noting the tragedy of their simultaneous deaths.
