Nyeri Town politician Ngunjiri Wambugu has written to former President and Jubilee Party Leader Uhuru Kenyatta, seeking clarification on what he describes as the continued humiliation and mistreatment of Jubilee Party aspirants by leaders from other political parties.

In a statement released over the weekend, Wambugu expressed concern over what he termed as a growing trend of disrespect towards Jubilee aspirants during joint political events. He said the incidents have left many party members feeling sidelined and demoralized.

“After watching yet another event where Jubilee Party aspirants were embarrassed and treated without any dignity by other political party leaders, I made a commitment to pursue this matter,” Wambugu stated.

He confirmed that he had formally written to Kenyatta to raise complaints and seek clarification on several issues affecting the party. Among the former MP’s  concerns are claims that the Jubilee leadership has allegedly succumbed to intimidation and threats from its partners in the United Opposition, and that the party may have agreed to cede or zone out certain regions of the country to other political formations.

“The letter was delivered this morning, and I share it here to assure my fellow aspirants that this matter has now been tabled,” Wambugu said, urging party members to remain patient and avoid making hasty decisions.

Wambugu reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the party, expressing optimism that internal dialogue would yield solutions. He also  Dr. Fred Matiang’i, who recently joined Jubilee, saying he was confident that the party would find a way forward under the current leadership.

“This is our party, and even though Dr. Fred Matiang’i might have only joined us recently, I am sure we will find a solution that will take our party forward,” he added.

The former MP announced plans to convene this month’s Jubilee Aspirant Forum, where members are expected to discuss the issues raised and await feedback from the party leader.

The move comes amid growing speculation about Jubilee’s position within the broader political alliances ahead of the next general election, with some members calling for renewed unity and clarity on the party’s direction.
