Couple Dominate ICPAK Annual Charity Golf Tournament

A security expert won the overall award during the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya [ICPAK] annual Charity Golf tournament played at the Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa county ahead of the much awaited KPA tournament.
Gladys Mueni beat over 100 golfers to emerge the overall winner after positing 39 points playing off 23 handicap.
She managed to score16 points on the first ninth hole and 23 points on the second ninth hole before being crowned the overall winner.
ICPAK chairman George Mokua won the men’s award after posting 38 points playing off 33 handicap.
Mokua, who started playing golf hardly two months ago, managed to score 16 points on the first ninth hole and 22 points on the second ninth hole.
Men’s runners up award was won by Mukesh Shah after posting 37 points while the third award went to Kamau Kuria after posting 36 points.
Retired Kenya Ports Authorty officer Yobesh Oyaro won the fourth award in the men’s category after positing 35 points.
In the ladies category the winner was Winfred Ndunge after posting 37 points while Oyaro’s spouse Truphena won the runners up award after posting 36 points.
Speaking at the awards ceremony Mokua said the institution had launched the scholarship program to assist students from less fortunate families in areas like Turkana who aspired to be accountants.
He pointed out this year the Institute targets to add more beneficiaries to the programme.
“To complement this, the Institute also hosts other charity golf tournaments across the country including the Nairobi edition,” he pointed out.
The ICPAK boss said the funds collected from the tournament are channeled through the scholarship program.
