Hundreds of Kisumu Women traders took to the streets to protest against Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga over her demands that President Ruto sacks Interior PS Dr. Raymond Omollo.
Wanga who was passing through Kisumu to Nairobi came face-to-face with the hostile women traders who warned her to keep off her attacks on the Interior PS.
Wanga is putting pressure on President Ruto to sack PS Omollo as a condition for ODM supporting the President’s re-election, claiming Omollo will interfere with party’s efforts to zone off Luo Nyanza for the party’s preferred nominees.
PS Omollo has indicated he will support strong independent aspirants opting to challenge the ODM Party in an effort to shore up voter turnout, which is key to President Ruto’s re-election.
The PS, sources say, is not opposed to ODM candidates but fear low voter turnout which may likely be occasioned by ODM’s often bungled primaries.
