Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian has obtained permanent protection orders against her former fiancé, Musa Hussein Lenyumpa, marking a significant legal win after months of personal turmoil following the collapse of their relationship.
The ruling, delivered at the Milimani Law Courts on December 11, 2025 by Magistrate Terer, concluded a case that arose after what began as a promising engagement between Senator Lemaletian and Musa Hussein Lenyumpa.
The senator had publicly acknowledged the relationship before calling it off earlier this year on the advice of family elders.
She later returned a Sh100,000 traditional courtship token, hoping the matter would end quietly.
However, the court heard that the breakup allegedly triggered a series of threats, harassment and defamatory statements that left the legislator feeling unsafe both at home and at her workplace.
According to individuals familiar with the matter, the strain took a personal toll on the young senator, who had to balance her public responsibilities with the emotional weight of the dispute.
In its decision, the court issued permanent orders barring Lenyumpa from threatening, harassing or interfering with the senator in any way.
He is also prohibited from accessing her residence or office and from issuing false or defamatory claims about her directly or through third parties, including on social media.
