ODM Secretary General Senator Edwin Sifuna on Saturday joined DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua and other opposition leaders at the funeral of Alice Wangari Gakuya, mother of Embakasi North MP James Gakuya.
”Happening…in Makomboki, Muranga County to condole with our brother Hon James Gakuya, MP Embakasi North, as he lays his mother Alice Wangari Gakuya to rest,” Sifuna posted on his social media platforms.
The appearance followed Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi’s Friday demand for disciplinary action against Sifuna over alleged insults toward party leaders, as ODM’s internal splits between pro-government figures and vocal critics like Sifuna escalate.
With party leader Oburu Oginga eyeing a 2027 presidential run and others pushing for a pact with President Ruto’s UDA, the event fueled speculation of Sifuna’s potential exit to Gachagua’s DCP.
