Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has raised concerns over the decision to print President William Ruto’s image on Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party merchandise, demanding clarification on whether the move was approved by the party’s top leadership.

In a statement posted on his X account on Friday, February 6, 2026, the outspoken legislator questioned when the ODM National Delegates Convention (NDC) met to authorize the production of T-shirts and caps bearing the President’s image. Amisi directed his query to senior party officials, including ODM chairperson Dr. Oburu Odinga.

“When did (ODM) NDC meet and approve that our T-shirts and caps be printed with Ruto’s image? When was this one approved, Dr. Oburu Odinga?” Amisi asked.

The Saboti MP expressed frustration with what he described as a worrying ideological drift within the party, using strong language to criticize the decision. “You have just removed your pants on the street like that? You don’t even want shame! My goodness,” he wrote.

Amisi’s remarks come amid growing debate within ODM over its evolving relationship with President Ruto’s administration. The legislator has previously voiced opposition to the emerging political cooperation between ODM and the government, arguing that it does not reflect the vision or wishes of former party leader Raila Odinga.

The ODM leadership has yet to issue an official response to Amisi’s concerns.
