Members of the Arsenal Kenya Supporters Group on Tuesday visited Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County, to offer their condolences to the family of the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, a lifelong Arsenal fan whose passion for the club was widely known.
The group described Raila as a true football enthusiast whose love for the Gunners transcended politics and united fans across generations.
“We came to honour Baba not just as a statesman, but as a fellow Gunner who cheered Arsenal through every triumph and heartbreak,” said one of the group’s coordinators during the visit. “His spirit of resilience mirrors the values we hold as fans — believing even when the odds seem impossible.”
The supporters laid a wreath at the Odinga family home and shared messages of solidarity with Raila’s relatives, recalling how he often spoke about Arsenal’s style of play and hope for the club’s future success.
As the team continues its 2025 English Premier League campaign, the group expressed confidence that “this will be Arsenal’s season to honour Baba’s memory with a title.”
Raila Odinga, who passed away earlier this month, was a passionate football fan who frequently attended matches and engaged Kenyan youth through sports initiatives, using football as a tool for unity and empowerment.
