Kenya’s track legend Faith Kipyegon has once again reaffirmed her dominance on the global stage, delivering a stunning performance at the Athlos NYC 2025, where she won the women’s one-mile race in 4:17.78 — the fastest time ever recorded on U.S. soil.

The double Olympic champion and multiple world record holder left the crowd at Icahn Stadium in awe as she powered through the final lap with her trademark calm and devastating kick. Her performance not only secured victory but also cemented her place as the undisputed queen of middle-distance running.

In a symbolic moment of recognition, Kipyegon received her winner’s crown from tennis icon Serena Williams — marking the second consecutive year the two sporting greats have shared the stage.

“It’s such an honor to race here and to keep pushing the limits,” Kipyegon said after the race. “Every time I step on the track, I just want to inspire the next generation to believe in themselves.”

Williams, who hailed Kipyegon as “the true definition of greatness,” praised her consistency and humility, calling her “a queen who keeps raising the bar.”

Faith’s victory adds another milestone to an already glittering career that includes world records in the 1,500m, mile, and 5,000m. With every stride, she continues to redefine what’s possible in women’s athletics — and to remind the world why she’s the Greatest of All Time.
