Lobby Hits out at IEBC Over Kulundu’s Dismissal

A political lobby group has called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission (IEBC) to immediately rescind the interdiction of the commissions deputy CEO Ruth Kulundu.

Bunge la Mwananchi issued a threeday ultimatum to the electoral body failure to which it will commence protests.

BLM’s President Calvince Okoth Gaucho accused IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati and CEO Marjan Hussein for silencing dissenting voices.

“We demand a clear statement from Chebukati that the four commissioners who disagreed with him were within their rights to do so,” said Okoth.

Last week, Kulundu was issued with a second show cause letter by IEBC CEO MarjanHussein Marjan.

A previous one had been issued to her on August 29th   to respond to her alleged outright misconduct and incorrigible demeanor in the past weeks.

The deputy CEO in charge of Operations was accused of convening a commission plenary meeting on August 26th without the approval or delegation of the IEBC CEO.
