Carrying placards and posters in peaceful demonstration amid tight security along the central business district (CBD) area to the famous Treasury Square they vowed to continue to push for their demands.

Addressing the media before heading to present their memorandum to the Mombasa county governor, the KMPDU coast branch Secretary refuted claims they are on strike.

Salim pointed an accusing finger at the government saying it is the one on strike for failure to fulfill the union’s collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

He asked the government to honouthe collective bargaining agreement of 2017 to 2021 which is actively in place.

The issue is in black and white and without fear or favour,” he pointed out.

The KMPDU coast branch Secretary urged his colleagues to join them in solidarity to avert government slavery currently going on.

Salim refuted government claims that interns have been posted which is  going against the union’s CBA.
