Suspect Behind Disappearance Of Deadly Police Arsenal In Homabay Arrested, One G-3 Rifle Recovered

The mastermind of a daring attack at a police station in Homabay county two weeks ago that led to the disappearance of four police firearms and over 100 rounds of ammunition has been arrested.

Charles Nyumba Ongany, 27, was arrested following a clandestine operation by sleuths based in Homabay, leading to the recovery of one G-3 riffle loaded with 20 rounds of of 7.62mm calibre.

 This is after the detectives raided his father’s compound in Abuje village in Nyando Kisumu county and dug the compound in search of the firearms, after getting wind that the dangerous arms cache had been buried there.

Following the early morning raid, the suspect’s father also believed to be part of the dangerous gang managed to escape

the police dragnet narrowly & a manhunt for his arrest is currently underway.

In the attack staged at Kipasi police post in Mbita on the night of November, 16, the unknown number of thugs broke into the station’s armoury under unclear circumstances and took off with the firearms
