President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday led several Government officials and mourners in the sendoff ceremony of the late Juja Member of Parliament Francis Munyua Waititu alias Wakapee in Juja, Kiambu County.

The Head of State eulogized the late MP as a peaceful person who he was friends with even before he became president.

He further eulogized Wakapee as an honest person who did good to everyone without discrimination,

‘Wakapee loved his friends. He never forgot his friends. In this Kiambu County, it is very rare for one to be re-elected and I know it is because of his servant leadership that saw him get a re-election,’ President Kenyatta told the mourners at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology graduation square.

He urged that all what Kenya needs is servant leadership.

The head of state used the ceremony to to tell residents that he will get back to the area to issue them with land title deeds and ensure that their water problem is solved.

‘I have listened to you and heard that you have got a myriad of problems ranging from water scarcity, lack of land title deeds and many more. I have also heard that this institution also lacks water. I will be back soon to ensure that all those issues are solved,’ President Kenyatta told the mourners.

He also said that he will work to ensure that all the projects the late MP had initiated will be completed in his honor.

Wakapee passed on February 23 aged 63 after a long battle with brain cancer.

He was diagnosed in December 2017.
