Peaceful elections usher in Malimo as Kenya County Govt Chairman

Newly elected Kenya county Government workers Union for Nairobi Staff branch John Malimo has promised to revamp the movement and ensure good medical scheme for their workers.
He promised not to let down the workers but vowed to ensure the working environment is conducive to every member.”I’m delighted with the win,members have spoken and I promise to serve everyone transparently with no favour”Malimo said.
He thanked workers for having faith in him and promised to ensure workers rights and demands are respected. He received 831 votes against second placed John Osike who garnered 629 votes. Moses Mwaura was third with 260.
The peaceful elections that saw all losers admitting defeat and vowing to support winners was conducted by returning officer Mercy Mangi.
However it was cheers and celebration for Nairobi city stadium Sports officer John Barasa who clinched the Vice Chairman post after garnering 679 votes against Jeremiah Mauti’s 414.Esther Wanjiru finished third with 253 votes respectively.
In his acceptance speech, Barasa said he was excited by the massive victory.
” I give glory to God.I thank those who who voted for me.I just call upon losers to join us in transforming the Union for a better future.”Observed Barasa.
In other results,Festus Ngari was elected the branch secretary with 686 votes against Boniface Waweru’s 649.Augustine Wafula is the Deputy brach secretary after scooping 518 votes against Grace Kerubo’s 370.
Brian Odour is the youth representative after garnering 863 votes against Ann Mwenda’s 853. Emily Mwangi is the branch women representative while Beatrice Cheruto is the women Assistant representative.
