Woman charged for burning friend with hot coffee after she questioned her dressing code
A middle aged woman was found guilty of injuring her friend by splashing hot coffee on her after a heated argument on dressing code. Faith Ndungi was charged yesterday with assaulting Pauline Lugalia on March 24 at 1300 hours along Mai Mahiu road in Lang’ata Sub-county contrary to the penal code.
Faith reported to the police that the accused person attacked her after she questioned her dressing style, which she deemed not appropriate and one that will attract unnecessary attention from men
“She assaulted me after I told her that she was badly dressed and she might be raped,” she told the police.
The police report says that a day after the incident, the accused person asked the complainant why she had the guts to question her dressing style before taking a cup full of hot coffee , poured it on her chest that left her with serious injuries on her breasts.
The complainant received treatment at a city hospital and was issued with a p3 form.
She appeared before Senior principal magistrate Esther Boke where she denied the charges.
The court prosecutor Robert Ogallo did not object her release on bond.
