Glovo now launches micro-fulfillment center

Nothing seems to be going wrong for Glovo ,the global on- demand delivery platform who have launched its first micro fulfillment center in Nairobi.
Glovo with its headquarters in Barcelona is trying to expand its “Quick commerce” division whereby consumers will be able to use Glovo to order from their favourite supermarkets and neighbourhood stores.
Glovo market uses the latest in strong digital technology and dedicated resources to ensure the quickest possible delivery times with customers receiving their orders in 20-40 minutes.
Their services will be accessible through Glovo App or website .Apart from working with Supermarkets like Naivas,Carrefour,Glovo is also working with retail brands such as Bulkbox,Diageo, EABL,Reckitt,Heshba,Mesora,Wrigley’s, Pernod Ricard,Kimberly Clark and farmers choice among others.
Oscar Pierre who is the CEO and Co- founder of Glovo says that Covid-19 impacted traditional bricks and mortal retail.
“We believe that micro fulfillment centers represent an important part of the future of post-pandemic retail and I think we will see a permanent shift to consumers buying groceries and other essential and convenience items from an App and website,rather than making such trips in person.

He went on to add ” We are excited to continue to expand our offering with new technological solutions and highly efficient infrastructure “Glovo-one of the world’s delivery platforms founded in Barcelona in 2015 will help expand the retail ecosystem by bringing several advantages that includes opening retail businesses, and selling products on the Glovo’s platform which are fulfilled through Glovo warehousing and logististics(last mile) services.
By opening up MFC’s Glovo is also creating Job opportunities and giving distributors and retailers additional sales channel’s.
