Odibets pump 4.5 million to rapper Khaligraphs initiative
Odibets, a betting firm in the country has inked a deal that will see sh4.5 million goes towards assisting talented upcoming rappers who are still struggling in the music industry.
The firm came into aid after Rapper Khaligraph Jones announced the initiative and was willing to part with sh500,000 over the same.
The partnership will now see five million shillings put into the table and will be shared among the finalists in a three week online event that is scheduled to start on 20th July 2021.
At the end of the competition, the winner will take home one million shillings while the runners up will be satisfied with sh500, 000. The second runners up will bag sh300, 000.
Also, they will be given a chance to record their songs at Khaligraphs recording studio Blu ink corps.
While signing the partnership, Rapper Khaligraph Jones thanked Odibets saying, “I’ts the beginning of a bright future for the music industry.”
Odibets general manager Dedan Mungai said the partnership wich falls under the Odimtaani initiative will be christened ‘OdiNare’ rap challenge.
“We intend to assist the rapper reach all talented Kenyans and by the end of this challenge, I am sure the country will get a new crop of singers and rappers,” he said.
Mungai added that the decision was arrived at as a way of supporting the Kenyan music industry through nurturing untapped talent and giving back to society.
