Kenya Film Classification Board has commenced talks with Netflix to form a joint team that will help local classification of content on the Netflix Platform.
This was after the Film regulator announced new measures governing the watching of Squid Game a latest TV series on Netflix.
KFCB has said that the new measures will bar the sharing of sections of series terming them inappropriate for audiences under the age of 18.
“KFCB and Netflix are engaging parents on the parental guidelines that will be set in place to protect children from exposure on content not meant for them,” said Christopher Wambua the CEO of KFCB.
KFCB also revealed that they have engaged Google to pull down sections of the film that have already been circulated on YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
“The parental training has commenced today” added Wambua.
