Gubernatorial Hopeful Meets City Traders, Promises to Improve Business Environment
Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful Richard Ngatia on Wednesday engaged over 2000 traders drawn from the Nairobi Central Business District ward.
This was part of his public engagements to help him develop a people driven manifesto for Nairobi.
The traders through their representatives lamented the poor state of markets, poor sanitation and over taxation by the county government.
They also complained about poor drainage, harassment by county askaris and corrupt county officers.
” The conditions of toilets in our markets is wanting and the drainage systems have been neglected,” Felix Ouma stated.
Ngatia promised to fix all the problems within the Nairobi CBD in his first five years.
” We need to have a CBD that is supportive to businesses but we must also remember that we need order in Nairobi,”Ngatia said.
Ngatia told the traders to ensure they are registered as voters if they want to be part of the change they desire.
He also called on Nairobi residents at large to support the Azimio La Umoja movement.
