Why Richard Ngatia Will Vie for Governor Withough Leaving KNCCI

Richard Ngatia has revealed that he will continue at the helm of Chamber of Commerce untill after the August Polls.

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI)  boss revealed that he will relinquish his presidency at the helm of  after elections to be sworn in as Nairobi Governor.

While exuding confidence in clinching the Nairobi seat Ngatia, who is also the Managing Director and CEO of Megascope Healthcare, said the rules governing KNCCI state that anyone who wishes to run for an elective seat can do so.

“At KNCCI, we have a memorandum of understanding that stipulates that if you want to venture into politics, you can do but before you are sworn into your new office, then you should resign from your position,” he said. “When I win Nairobi, I will quit.”

Ngatia, also the chairman of The Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) said that he will adhere to the rules and should he be successful, he will ensure that he has handed over his duties and roles from all his dealings.

“I am still working for the people of Kenya even as I run for Governor of Nairobi and I will be ready on day one,” he said.

“As we speak, I am in Dubai for the Dubai Expo 2022 where we are signing deals to make it easier for Kenyans to import or export their businesses and services.”

Ngatia has announced that he is running for Nairobi Governor under the Azimio la Umoja umbrella.
